Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Amboseli National Park.

On the 1st day of the safari, you will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi or from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris and welcome you about the safari. After the briefing you will start on your journey. The journey itself is part of the adventure, passing through classic Kenyan countryside where you might see colourful Maasai herdsmen guiding their cattle. Upon arriving near lunchtime, you will check in into your safari lodge or the tented camp. These accommodations are specifically chosen to be family-friendly, often with swimming pool, spacious grounds, and dedicated children’s activities to ensure everyone is comfortable and entertained after the morning’s travel.

After lunch, the afternoon is reserved for your very first Game drive. As the hot African sun begins to cool, the animals become more active, offering an excellent time for wildlife viewing. Amboseli is renowned as the best place in the world to get up close for free-ranging elephants, often called the ‘’Giants of Amboseli’’ due to their impressive size and magnificent tusks. You will likely see entire families’ mothers, calves and bulls grazing and marching across the savannah, often covered in the park’s characteristic white dust from bathing. Your expert safari guide will help you spot other animals, such as zebras, giraffes, wildebeests and various species of gazelle. The highlight of the later afternoon will be trying to capture the classic, unforgettable photography of elephants against the towering peak of the Mount Kilimanjaro, which is Africa’s highest mountain, as the sun begins to set. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for the delicious dinner and a restful first night under the immense African sky.

Day 2: Full day exploration and cultural immersion in Amboseli national park.

On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and you will meet your safari guide for a full day exploring Amboseli national park, to increase your chances of spotting the more exclusive animals, your day will begin with an exhilarating Early morning game drive. This time, just after sunrise, is the best for seeing predators like lions, cheetahs, and spotted hyenas, as they are often still active before the heat of the day. The golden light of the morning also provides the most spectacular, clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro, an absolutely magical sight to share with your family. After the drive, you will return back to the lodge for breakfast.

After breakfast, you will go back to the lodge and spend time at the park’s swamps and Marshlands watching hippos wallow, buffaloes graze and watching incredible variety of the bird species, including pelicans, kingfishers and others. As well you can take a visit to the Observation Hill is also a key feature of the day. This is a small, easy to climb viewing point that offers a stunning panoramic view of the entire park, including the swamps, the dry lake bed of Lake Amboseli, and on a clear day, the three summits of Kilimanjaro. Later you will go back to your lodge for lunch.

Maasai People

After lunch, you will meet your safari guide and then go for the Maasai culture visit to a local village just outside the park boundaries. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet the Maasai people, and then learn about their traditional way of life, witness their famous jumping dance, and understand how they coexist with the wild animals. This blend of wildlife viewing and then cultural learning makes for a rich and complete safari experience, concluding with dinner and storytelling back at the lodge.

Day 3: Morning game drive and Departure.

On the last of the safari, wake early in the morning, and check out from our lodge and then enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast you will go for a relaxed morning game drive to spot the incredible animal’s species and this time offers the opportunity for clear opportunity of Kilimanjaro before its peak is hidden by the clouds of the midday heat.

After you will proceed with your journey to Nairobi, in 4 to 5 hours, bringing you and your family to Nairobi in the early to mid-afternoon, and upon your arrival in Nairobi you will have lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to drop-off point either at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or to your hotel in Nairobi that will make your Kenya safari to the end.
